BIOGRAPHY
Born in Wareham, Massachusetts, Jake Canney is an independent Rap/Hip-Hop artist who represents a very small and quiet town in north east Connecticut known as Killingly.
Jake Canney first fell in love with Rap/Hip-Hop as young as the age of 9 with the introduction of the genre from his uncle. Jake was just 9 years old when his uncle burned him his first CD of the classic Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre songs from the early 2000's. Jake then picked up the pen and started writing his own rhymes as a young Hip-Hop enthusiast. But this was only the beginning of Hip Hop and music as a whole for Jake.
Fast forward, with the inspiration and help of his younger brother Jordan, they started their first home studio around 2014. While always having the passion for Hip-Hop, and writing rhymes himself, he became even more blessed when his brother started the home studio set up. The two worlds then collided. His brother Jordan would do the engineering, and they would both take turns rhyming on the microphone. But shortly after this routine, Jake picked up on the engineering/mixing aspect as well. Completely self taught, down the road Jake Canney took years of this self taught experience and learning and went on to open up one of the first commercial space Rap/Hip-Hop specialized studios in the quiet Killingly/Putnam, CT area while releasing his own music at the same time.

In the earlier years of Jake Canney's music career he went by the stage name 'JAK3' and that's the entity he was releasing music under during those years. Releasing on mainly SoundCloud, but also Spotify and Apple Music. After what one may call a 'brief hiatus' Jake completely re-branded his music and social media as well, then decided his new stage name would reflect his real name, as a symbol of pride in his name.
Since then, Jake is back and better than ever consistently releasing new music, and gaining fans. He has been reaching
heights, and hitting accomplishments in his music that arguably are rare accolades that come from the region that he's from. When you think of known rap artists from Connecticut, you may think of someone like Chris Webby, but within short time, you may think of someone like Jake Canney.
